Special Congregational Meeting
Your council has called for a special congregational Meeting on Sunday July 26, 2026 following the worship service. This meeting will consist of 2 votes.
First is to call the Carsons as our Deacon and Pastor. If that passes, we will vote on the compensation package.
Please plan to attend this meeting to both ensure we have a quorum and to have your voice be heard.
Prior to the Congregational Meeting on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. please join us for a special Meet & Greet with our pastoral candidates including a congregational dinner. This will be a wonderful opportunity to get to know the candidates, enjoy fellowship, and spend time together as a church family. We encourage everyone to make plans to attend and be part of this special evening.
Call Committee Update: July 10, 2026
On Wednesday evening, July 8, 2026, the Call Committee formally recommended that the Church Council extend an invitation to Pastor Jared Carson and Deacon Laura Carson to visit Immanuel Lutheran as the next step in our search for new pastoral leadership. We are pleased to share that the Council approved our recommendation.
The Call Committee is delighted to report that the Council has extended the official invitation, and the Carsons have agreed to come for a visit to help them in their discernment process. We expect them to arrive in Centralia on Tuesday, July 21st, and depart on Saturday, July 25th.
With this recommendation accepted, the Call Committee has successfully completed its core mission. The Church Council will manage the process moving forward, and you will receive full details from our church leadership in the coming days as the itinerary and logistics are finalized.
Finally, the Call Committee would like to offer our deepest gratitude to each of you. Thank you for your steadfast prayers, your trust, and your patience as we navigated this 18-month journey together. We are incredibly excited for the future of Immanuel.
Book Club
We met on July 1st to discuss THEO OF GOLDEN, by Allen Levi. We have the highest praise for this book - the many characters, the research required, and the author. It tops our list of “best reads”. Since these books were purchased, any of our readers will be happy to share and let you borrow their copy. Next month’s book is THE MIDNIGHT LIBRARY, written by Matt Haig, and will be reviewed at our next meeting on August 5.
All are welcome, there is no membership.
