From Pastor Peter

Welcome to Immanuel Lutheran Church!

As we come through this Covid year, we are back to in-person worship at 10AM on Sunday mornings. While particularly challenging and frustrating and even scary, this last year has taught us to innovate, to be flexible, and above all to trust God!

The sermons and livestream are still being made available through our YouTube channel here:

We invite you to join us for worship with communion Sunday at 10AM. There is a coffee hour after the service, but we still are not offering Sunday School other than during the sermon. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Council in the Time of Covid – or how to be the church when we cannot see each other.

Council is the governing body of Immanuel Lutheran Church. While no one could see each other in person, the work of the people of God has carried on. In the office, the newsletters and sermons have been typed up and sent out both online and via snail mail. Pastor Peter has preached from his living room, the church parking lot, and finally now back in the sanctuary. God’s word had to go out. Council met via Zoom until we could meet again in person. While we have been unable to do many things, we have been listening, planning, and plotting what we feel God has in mind for Immanuel.

We have carried those in our congregation along with prayers, phone calls, mailed notes, and every way we could think of to let those not able to attend feel loved and cared for.

It has been a time of wonderful teamwork as we have been writing a vision statement for where God seems to be directing us. Currently, we are devising a one, to five-year plan for current needs as well as future direction. I am very excited to be a part of this group of dedicated Christians that put their own needs behind that of the church body and think and act creatively. Beware, we as leaders are preparing to spring into action that we hope will inspire you to come along and meet the challenge of being the church in an after COVID world. Come along. It will be fun.
