Coffee House Refresh

The coffee house has been freshened up and repurposed with a self-serve coffee bar. If you enjoy a coffee before services on Sunday mornings, this is your stop. There are a Keurig, coffee pods, tea and condiments available. It’s also a relaxing space to sit and visit or read a book. Please clean up after yourself (no dirty dishes in the sink--Mom won’t be stopping by to take care of them) so we can all enjoy this peaceful spot in our building.

Welcome Summer ~ The time to share is here!

The “Bring and Take Table” is set up at the front entrance door. It will be there through the summer for you to bring in anything that relates to the activity of gardening. Seeds, pots, tools and those little extra sprouts that are a shame to throw away are welcome. Later, flowers and vegetables. The is no charge for anything that is taken. We ask that you dust extra dirt off and label what you can. As the price of gardening continues to rise, this activity is very helpful to many of us.

 Sunday School during the Summer

Thank you  to all people who have given of their time and energy to lead Sunday School for the last school year! Our children have experienced your love and dedication to faith through your efforts. Summer months are a good time to take a break since many families have unpredictable schedules then so beginning this coming Sunday, June 1st there will be NO Sunday School and children will NOT be dismissed after the Children’s message.

This is an opportunity for us all to learn from the children in worship how to make a joyful noise together, learn together and praise God together!

Book Club

Nine of us met on July 2nd to review ANXIOUS PEOPLE, written by Fredrik Backman.

What can I say?  We all enjoyed it, in spite of the people being anxious. We were impressed with the author’s ability to weave the past with the present. We liked the “one-line zingers” that are found throughout the book. When all is said and done, we recommend this book.

Next month, we have a choice of two books……

I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS, by Maya Angelou or LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY, by Bonnie Garmus. This is also the opportunity to read both of them!  Sign a book or two out and come for discussion August 6 at 10:00am.  We look forward to to your thoughts.

Safe Parking Project

Safe Parking is gearing up to open on the evening of Monday, July 7th. Thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers that have agreed to help with hosting duties. Another possible way to help with this new ministry is by donating supplies. Here are a few items that are needed. You may even have one of these items laying around unused at your house or in your garage. Your donation would be much appreciated!
